3-5-2 Back Three Wide Overload

A back three with Wide Backs covering the channels while the wide midfielders shuttle up and down like wingbacks. Two holding mids, a Playmaker and a front two give you numbers both in midfield and in the box.

  • Aerially strong Target Forward
Player Instructions
  1. Run it asymmetrically: the left Winger attacks while the right Wide Midfielder prioritises tracking back.
  2. Funnel the ball to the deep-lying playmaker, then switch play to the far flank.
  3. Aim crosses at the Target Forward and have the Advanced Forward attack the near post.
  4. Against three forwards, manually drop a wide mid to form a back five when defending.
  5. Sub the wide players around the hour mark to keep the energy up.
